Good morning all :-) Charlies mommy here Fiona, I feel I need to update you all on the progress of Charlies legacy as its been to quiet.. Not for my self and the team though ! Since last year we have desperately been trying to get a cord blood bank set up in the Worcestershire area .. Wow what a task .. Its a while off still :-( It’s important to have a long term vision i.e cord banks in every hospital across the UK/ midwife training * But until then, our short term aim will be to make the existing cord banks more accessible to patients and families; whether that’s paying for accommodation travel or even food. * Potential messaging: C4L provides practical and financial support to families whose child is waiting for a cord blood transplant * Our mission is to help families to focus on getting their child better and not have to worry about financial strains, where they’ll stay or what they’ll eat * We want to campaign to raise awareness of the importance of umbilical cord stem cells and inform expectant mothers that they have a choice as to whether they donate their cord. We will never give up Charlies legacy and with your help we are going to change lives !!!! FACT xxxxxxxxxxx
