Good morning all. I am 100% certain that just about everyone on this page is aware of our safety habits and concern for pitchers. How we pay amazing attention to detail on every single throw to make certain that nothing changes. You know how we watch pitch counts, signs of fatigue and anything that may throw a red flag to the possibility of someone being injured. You know how we are always asking, you okay? How do you feel? Etc., etc.. Let me tell you how important communication is from THE PLAYERS side. Saturday, my oldest son was taking the mound during a game. When he picked up the ball off the ground, he felt a pain in his forearm. He walked over and mentioned it to me and asked what it meant. I said, It means you are done. Our teams manager Gary asked what was going on, I told him and there was NO QUESTION, you are out. There was not a question like, Can you go another inning? or anything like that. Folks, that is pure care for the players future right there. We really needed that game to have any chance at placing high in that tournament and he didnt care, nor did I. At 12 years old it does not matter! So we go to the doctor yesterday and it is a little inflammation of the tendons and muscle that allow pronation, no big deal. BUT, he is out for a month and is going to go through rehab. However, had he thrown another pitch, it could have been it for a long time. Doctor confirmed this fact. But Ethan noticed a pain and now we can deal with it as no big deal. Just a minor injury. This is no different than the fact that if you let an engine leak long enough, a simple $20 radiator hose can blow a $5000 engine. No sense in it. Parents URGE your pitcher to be open with you and talk to you about ANYTHING bothering them. Pay attention to pitch counts. When a pitcher throws fatigued, he is 3.5 times more likely to be injured. Most importantly, allow the pitcher the proper amount of rest AFTER he pitches. I have all of this information available here on what 27 years of research has found out is RIGHT. If you have a pitcher with pain right now, get them to a doctor. Have their mechanics looked at once they are cleared. The majority of kids can be fixed by giving proper rest and learning the proper mechanics and angles. Now is the time to get your pitcher the right instruction, not just ANY instruction. We have students from 7 states now that come here for pitching instruction. Find out why ex-major league players are saying that you should come here. We spend a lot of money to make certain what we are teaching is right! Come find out how!
