Good morning all, So Ive been looking for a job here for a few - TopicsExpress

Good morning all, So Ive been looking for a job here for a few months now. I came over here with every intention of teaching English, and while I think its ok, I would prefer to get back into sales (corporate IT sales, preferably). But I have a few hindrances: 1. I have an Associates degree and not a Bachelors 2. I require a work permit 3. On a scale of 1-10 my Thai speaking ability is somewhere between 2 and 3 In the US overcoming the no Bachelors degree has never been an issue; employers will almost always take work experience in lieu of a degree. But that doesnt seem to be the case here. Or perhaps my other issues are holding me back; I really dont know. Regarding speaking Thai, I was hoping that since so many companies in the IT world are English-based (Microsoft, HP, IBM, Cisco, Symantec, EMC, etc...) that perhaps this was one vertical where English had become the standard throughout. Regarding the work permit, theres really nothing I can do about that, unfortunately. What Im wondering is, should I give up on finding a sales gig here? Is it really hopeless without a Bachelors degree? If so, would acquiring one instantly make me hirable? I have been considering going back to school for this, and I have found a few schools that accept foreign credits so I could finish in two years. Im working on learning Thai as well. Is it absolutely essential? At least, for corporate IT sales? I have some good and very relevant experience. Can that overcome the need for a work permit? Lastly, I was also thinking perhaps a job in real estate, catering to expats, might also be a good fit. I have experience as a loan officer for home mortgages as well. Are there any real estate offices that specifically cater to expats, where native English speakers are required? Sorry for the lengthy post.
