Good morning all: Thank you to my good friend, Betty Boucher, for being willing and available to supervise the school kitchen for both dinner a week from tonight and a breakfast next Saturday morning for roughly 25 varsity players and their coaches from Jonesport-Beals, who will be sleeping in our gym. It certainly does make life much easier when you have such talented people to lean on! Betty and I will do our best to organize everything via email and phone, with help from Ms. Knight. Betty will either do the necessary shopping, or delegate. I will need receipts so the appropriate people can be reimbursed. I will be at school early next Friday, and throughout the games, dinner, etc., and then again as we serve breakfast and make sure we are set up Saturday morning for the second set of games. Administrative Assistant Krysti Hall will be in charge from that point on. We need people to shop, to cook, to serve, to clean up. Ive spoken to Chef Ryan and he knows that Betty is running the kitchen at the request of me and Ms. Knight. We are not doing spaghetti. Too messy. Anybody want to donate some pasta casseroles? Zitis, lasagnas, etc. Thats the way were gonna roll. Were also going to need people to warm the pasta casseroles in the big oven, slice bread, donate desserts. And such, as my daughter would say :-) Basically, we will accept anything. I guess what we really need is labor -- prep, cook, serve, clean. And to run my old friend, the commercial dishwasher ... We will use the school trays and utensils, instead of wasting a bunch of $ and paper. Thank you, all! I know you guys will come through, because next year it may be *our* kids sleeping on *their* gym floor. Hopefully, optimistically, we can do a really cool job with this, and then well have a blueprint for how to do this the right way up the road. Because I sure dont think this will be the last time. If there are other people in our community whod like to be involved, please let them know. Let us know. The more help, the merrier. You all will be getting a lot of emails this week.
