Good morning all. Today I am thinking the T-word after watching a short video about racism. Tribalism is not innate. You are born into a tribalistic society. You have to be taught to be a tribalist - your are not born a tribalist. And like anything else if you can learn it you can unlearn it. But some people choose not to unlearn it because they are afraid they will lose power if they share it with other people. If we share power we will empower more power and we will all be powerful - not less powerful. Like racism, tribalism is a mental problem. Let us as a people put it behind us. Sierra Leoneans - we are only tribalistic when it comes to political power and favours. Ordinarily we are not - marriage, friendship, etc. So let the tribalistic Sierra Leoneans unlearn tribalism today and stop handing it down. Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
