Good morning all. Welcome to Sunday the 26th day of January 2014. Australia Day. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––--------------------- Heres your Northern Queensland weather forecast: Warning Summary: See: bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/ Weather Situation: An upper level trough lies through central Queensland, with a moist and unstable airmass to its north. The upper trough is expected to weaken from Monday. A monsoon trough extends through the Gulf of Carpentaria into Cape York Peninsula and across the northern Coral Sea to a developing monsoon low southwest of the Solomon Islands. The monsoon low is expected to deepen over the next few days and possibly move west through the Coral Sea, though a great deal of uncertainty still exists with its movement. Forecasts from Tuesday are highly dependent on the development and movement of this system. A large high over southeastern Australia will move slowly east over the Tasman Sea during the forecast period, extending a firm ridge along the east Queensland coast to the south of the monsoon trough. –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––--------------------- Todays official forecast for the Herbert and Lower Burdekin and surrounds: Partly cloudy.
