Good morning all x I am Bella x my mummy Claire was looking for cages for problem parrot when she came across an add advertising a large cage.... she read the description to find a parrot came free with the cage. She messaged the lady asking what parrot it was and was told it was a 3 and a half year old african grey...... Shocked and worried mummy soon arranged to come and collect me and payed the £100 asking price for my cage.... as problem parrots do not buy birds mummy had to get the money her self and come and meet me with her sister as my old owner was un willing to hand me over without mummy paying for the cage. When mummy first came I screamed and hissed and my old owners said I was feral. I was just very scared. 24 hours later I was loving all the cuddles and love..... They told mummy I could fly but how do they know? They never let me out my cage since I was 6 months old. 3 years I had been in there. Mummy thinks they kept me in the garage but shes not sure. When mummy took me home shell came to meet me and she checked my wings for mummy as mummy noticed I couldnt fly straight away and also I walked with a limp..... my one foot is deformed you see its kind of upside down.... shell saw all my flight feathers were gone..... and said maybe mummy should take me to see the vet to make sure it was ok. Mummy did that and the vet said my feathers should grow back in time and I should fly again. I hope this will happen as it would be amazing to fly again. I think mummy will cry tho....The vet also said my foot was ligament damage and said we are not all perfect and said Ill be fine. I just waddle a bit more when I walk which mummy says is very cute x mummy now lets me live on a stand in the living room I love it... she gave my cage straight to the scrap men as she didnt want me to ever go in there again and it was no good any way. I know problem parrots didnt directly save me..... but if it was not for them I wouldnt have been saved. I love my new life now. All the advise and support they gave mummy has contributed to my Happy life Please if you can donate just as little as £1 at problemparrots.co.uk and follow the page to the bottom......you would be helping many more parrots like me. I could have been in that cage for the rest of my life..... how ever short or long that may have been. I know there are many more that are still locked away which problem parrots have to try and help by advising and teaching owners how to cope with their parrots or give them up If they cant cope after problem parrots support. ***Barclays bank 20 85 13 account 03765806*** if you feel you could support us monthly that would also be a huge help x just even as little as £1 a month x Thankyou x love bella x
