Good morning and Praise the Lord. Another coon hunting tail to start the day. If I could remember all of my coon stories and put them in a book I would be famous or locked up ! One of my grandsons Bryce loves to coon and squirrel hunt and he is growing so fast I can’t keep him in boots so a lot of times he wears his tennis shoes or leather school boots. Awhile back we was hunting and came to a small creek we had to cross and I had on rubber boots, he did not. I told him to hop on my back, (piggy back style) and over the creek we went, him holding our guns as we crossed. About thirteen years ago my oldest son Mark and his son Brandon, (2 years old at the time) was coon hunting and when the dogs treed the coon we packed Brandon a long hard walk on our backs to the tree to get the coon. Most of you coon hunters know what I’m talking about. Many times I have carried a hunting buddy across a creek when they didn’t have rubber boots and I did or the other way around. Sometimes we didn’t make it across and we both went home wet! Been there, done that! I related these many times of carrying someone, or someone carrying me when I read this scripture. Isaiah 46:3,4; “Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, And all the remnant of the house of Israel, You who have been borne by Me from birth and have been carried from the womb, Even to your old age I will be the same, and even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; And I will bear you and I will deliver you.” I Thank God, He carries me when the going gets rough. My God has carried me many a step, sometimes I didn’t even know it, but He was there every step of the way. Now that I am in my graying years I have learned to depend more and more upon God to carry me. One of these days I am coming to life’s end, this hunt will be over, I will hear the hounds tree for the very last time, I will climb my very last hill and I will shine my very last tree, but I know God will carry me, my faith in Jesus will carry me across the Jordan river into the Promised Land. How about you, are you letting Jesus carry you? Are you following Him to the Promised land? I just wonder sometimes as I grow older, as my body is failing and I can no longer go like I once did, if my sons and grandsons will help me make it to one more treed coon! Good day and God Bless…..
