Good morning and a very happy Monday to all of you! I hope you had an amazing and peaceful weekend allowing you to take on the world once again. I hope this message finds you happy, healthy, and blessed beyond measure. As planned with the amazing scan results, I started adding the chemo temodar to my current regimen of taxol. In short, this combo treatment includes my current weekly infusions of Taxol and now a nightly pill of temodar at home. I have been handling this experimental combo very well. With any cytotoxic agent, you are going to have little daily nuances especially upon initial doses, but most have gone away. However, I am finding myself drained of energy a lot easier and a lot sooner in the day even after a full nights rest. In all actuality, this is to be expected considering what I am subjecting my body to and asking it to endure. We manage as we have this whole time, and I will do what is necessary for each new day of God-given life. We are blessed to have these opportunities, these treatments, and these miracles against this disease. Its been a great year for so many reasons! With that said, my blood counts are holding very strong. With this new combination, I have to monitor my blood work very closely by getting my blood drawn every 2-3 days. Fortunately, my comp panel drawn on Friday came back great. The spikes in my white blood cell are due to the daily neupogen shot I have to administer at home. Bring on chemo round 51!
