Good morning and happy Sunday. Two years ago today, December 7, I was told there was a spot on my lung and there was a 50/50 chance it was malignant. I asked the doctor are you saying I have lung cancer? He repeated the 50/50 chance statement. I was sent to a pulmonary doctor, had a biopsy and then it was confirmed, yes I have lung cancer. God is so good. It was discovered by accident, really. They didnt want to do surgery because I also had moderate to severe COPD and didnt want to make me dependent on oxygen. Through exercise that is now down to moderate COPD. I was sent to an oncologist in Overland Park, KS who specialized in cyberknife radiation. My cancer was 1A, earliest possible detection. I had three rounds of radiation, see my doctor every six months and so far, all is good. I smoked heavy most of my life but quit almost 20 years ago. I have other spots that are not active at this time in both lungs but if they show active, it is pretty sure they will be cancer. My point is to never give up. Live your life to the fullest. God is always by my side as he is yours. This life we have is the only one we will every have on this earth, wonderful things happen every day, new advances in medicine happen every day. Cherish your loved ones, hold them tight. I love you all and pray you have a great day. Be strong, be happy, be safe. God bless us all. Happy Trails.
