Dawn Blackburn wants to take care of ‘Randy’ the pig after the man she sold it to can’t keep it at his home. He returned it to the Humane Society of Missouri, who tracked the microchip to Blackburn, the breeder. She says Humane Society officials told her they don’t deal with breeders. HSMO officials tell Fox 2 the pig is going to its Long Meadow Ranch location and will eventually be put up for adoption. That worries Blackburn. “To be isolated for 30 days is really incredibly hard on a pig because they are herd animals, they like to be in groups,” she said. “And I understand they would do the best that they could do, but why do we need to the best we can do when we can put him in a good home.” The Humane Society of Missouri released its own statement, which reads, in part: “…As an organization that strives to find loving, forever homes for all animals we receive, we are doing the same for this pig.”
