Good morning boys and girls! I wish to pass on a message of great importance,and incidentally, it came up on Mr. Ed in one episode. A great many good horses are unfortunately being sent to slaughter, mainly because the owner never made provisions in his/her will as to the disposition of the horses. The average executor may or my not realize the dire conseqences of what happens to any pet, not included in a will. The normal result of any small pet, not mentioned in a will, or of a person passing of limited means, would be to the closest animal shelter, until will is probated. In case of horses, cattle and large animals, it is of a different nature, as many people consider them livestock, regardless of the inerpretations of either persons, or laws. It behooves all owners of horses to make provisions somehow with those who will be willing to care and love those horses, so that a tragic end does not befall your horses, as that which, unwittingly happens to so many horses-shipped to slaughter, due to death of owner.
