Good morning early birds :-) .. Just a very quick post before I head back offshore today .. Amazingly !,,, Minke Whales are still blowing and feeding in the rich waters of Falmouth Bay . Long may they continue to thrive and feed in this area. Such a beautiful and joyful little Whale to interact with and observe . I just adore them .. FIVE , Minke Whales were observed and recorded on Tuesdays excursion . Which is really boosting our total for this season and there is still some of the best cetacean sighting months still on the calendar to go .. So exciting :-) All the Whales appear to be feeding at depth, staying down for a minimum of fifteen minutes .. So good spotting skills and patience are the required to locate and observe them ... Baitfish are still ever present, throughout the Bay . Which Im delighted to say . Will continue to draw in and attract a variety of diffent cetacean species over the next few months ... Making the possibilities this Winter of those Giants of the temperate seas. The might Fin Whale coming into feed in Falmouth Bay ... Many have I observed over the years . So Im forever hopeful and very excited at the prospects :-) . The small resident group of Atlantic Grey Seals we have here around Falmouth are slowly building in numbers again.. As the PUPPING time of year is nearly back upon us .. I always wait with bated breath and anticipation, like the proud dad I am .. For any new seal pup arrivals, at this time of year .. We have observed a single female, who Im delighted to say is looking nice and pregnant .. So its fingers and toes crossed for now, hoping that she will have a successful, undisturbed and safe delivery . Of another strong and healthy little pup ... :-) Heres hoping :-) Got to dash .......... OH, before I go Please can I extend a very heart felt and sincere gratitude to you all recently . For your very kind and endearing comments so many of you have so kindly sent in :-) . I feel truly humbled and absolutely blessed to have all your wonderful support and continued enthusiasm.
