Good morning earlybirds! Hope everyone is up for a big start on the day! I found the picture of the two AT-6s yesterday on the Wikipedia web page for the planes by that name. The AT-6 was a plane used to train Army Air Corps pilots prior to and during WW2. It turns out that this picture was taken somewhere near Luke Army Air Field in Arizona in 1943. After my father went through his training and received his wings, he was retained as an instructor at Luke Field prior to being assigned as a P47 fighter pilot with the 56th Fighter Grooup at Boxted, England. Further, after checking his pilots logs for this instructor flights at Luke, I also found that he flew the plane marked X-152 in the picture as an instructor on December 18th, 1943. What a nice coincidence! Now the family history records have a picture of a plane in flight that he actually flew. As for whether he was involved in this photo we will never know. But well take it! Ive posted an enhanced copy of his pilots log page. If you can read the bottom of the page on FB it shows 3 entries flying the X-152 plane. Have a FINE Tuesday all! :) PS - Time for another week of honey-dos and fishing. Ill be back!
