Good morning/evening folks Solar Update: Current Solar wind speed: 500.1 km/sec density: 6.2 protons/cm3 Another coronal mass ejection has just arrived at ACE. This is perhaps the M1 solar flare CME that we mentioned in our previous update. The strength of the IMF went to 30nT which is a high value but the direction of the IMF remains north. The solar wind speed went up to over 500km/s which is not so high but still worth noting as it is well above average. A minor to moderate G1 to G2 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for the next 24 hours but it is vital that the direction oft he IMF turns southward if we wish to see a geomagnetic storm.
