Good morning everyone! I truly hope that you are having a good start to your Sunday! I just love Sundays because this not only becomes a day, when we worship God but this also becomes a day, when we rest from a busy week; to allow God to renew us, for another new week ahead. Aren’t you glad that God has everything in control and that He can foresee the things that lie ahead of us? When we think of it…God actually is the One that leads us through the dark moments of life and becomes the light that shines upon our pathway…a light that can detour us away from the traps and snares that may lead us to destruction. As we begin this morning; I was thinking about our tomorrows and how God only allows us to see so far ahead, through the light of His presence. Many times, I have said to Keith; that if I could see what lies down the road for me; then maybe I would run and hide but I have come to see that this is one of the reasons, for why God may only allow us, to view a glimpse of what lies ahead of us. Today, I would like to share a Bible verse with you from I Corinthians 2:9 and we read…“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him.” I have come to see my life, as one long journey with God…a journey that will eventually lead me into heaven, where I will be able to meet the best friend I’ve ever had…face to face. What a great day that will be but as we continue to journey through this life; we can find that our tomorrows not only bring great joy but our tomorrows can also lead us to moments of great pain and heartache. Moments like these can make us feel alone and in the dark but the hope we have today; is that even though we cannot look down the road and see how our situation will turn out; there is a God that can foresee these things and when we learn to take Him by the hand and allow Him to lead us through these difficult moments; then we will begin to see that He can shed His light upon us and detour us away from the traps and snares that Satan continues to set up, as a means of leading us to a place of destruction. One thing I have truly come to see in my own life; is that we need to quit looking down the road and work side by side with God, on the things that stand before us. In other words…we must allow Him to lead us, rather than us leading the way. Even though the difficult moments can allow us to feel defeated; we must realize that this God we serve, has been undefeated for thousands of years and no matter how big the trial may seem; He is a God that can lead us through these uncertain moments, while allowing new growth to take place within our lives. Today, if we could just hold tightly, to the hand of God and listen for His still small voice; then we would find that even though the trial attempts to make us feel alone and defeated…we really aren’t. We must come to realize that we are never going to get out of this dark wilderness of despair, by trying to look into moments that we cannot comprehend. Instead, we need to become humble through these moments and allow God to see that we can never make it through these difficult times without Him. When we allow God to continually lead us further ahead in life; then we will begin to understand the reason for our trials and in the end; God will lead us out of the darkness, into a light that allows us to experience moments of renewed hope.
