Good morning everyone! Well... today is going to be a busy day for me. Once again, I am going to be working on my garden and yard, while the weather is still nice. Later this week, it will be cool and rainy. I plan to transplant a couple annual flowers that I had in pots on my deck, into the garden. Hopefully, they will survive, and come back next year. I also need to empty the rest of my pots that were on our side deck. I had emptied most of them yesterday, but still have about 1/3 of them to do today. I also need to gather the yard decorations, and get them stored in our shed. If it stays nice, I am debating cutting the lawn, or at least trimming some of the longer edges around the lawn and garden. I also need to cut back our herbs, to be dried in the dehydrator, and sort out the lawn furniture and picnic table. I want to get the big table tipped on its side, to keep the snow from building up on it and rotting the wood. Yesterday, I managed to get our rain-barrels drained, and the attachments cleaned and put away, and the barrels stowed away safely. That was a major job. I am glad it is done. I would have hated for the water to freeze in them, and crack them. They were expensive. I used the water in them to give our trees a good drink, by diverting the draining water with a hose to the trees. At least this way, the water was not wasted. I am trying to get the bulk of this work all done, before it freezes here. The weather station is telling us that it could get to 2C at night in a couple days. If it can get to 2C, it could get colder and freeze. I find that what they predict is often on the conservative side, and it can actually get colder. I do not want to lose my hard worked for vegetables, so I am cautious, and pick them when the temperatures get close to freezing. Anyways... I will be busy, busy, busy for the next few days... I dont mind being busy tho. At least this stuff will be done, and I can then relax. :)
