Good morning everyone! Wow, what a great night at Milonga LAX!!! It was indeed a celebration of epic proportions (around 250+ people in attendance). Despite some technical difficulties we experienced last night, I heard SO many beautiful, supportive sentiments from so many friends! It means so much to know that our events makes so many people happy. We get asked all the time why we dont do this more than once a month :-) In all honesty, it is simply too much work AND I personally think that having lots of different options and venues to dance at is good for the LA tango community. We are so very fortunate to have so many great places to dance tango at in LA. Lets support all milongas and all hard-working organizers who put their hearts, time, money and POSITIVE energy into this work. I want to thank Linda A Puro Tango, Kimberley Valentino, Julie Friedgen, Sara Pettitt, Michael McCarrell, Yuliana Basmajyan, Brian Nguyen, Dmitry Lubinsky, Jerry Perez Gallego and Christine Lopez Urgell for taking the time to come out and show their support! I know some organizers couldnt be there in body, but were there in spirit :-) Also, all our amazing helpers without whom we wouldnt be able to do this... Lena Kroha, Asya Campbell, Brenda Embrace Tango, Larry Simmons, Ivan A. Lopez, Karlo Abouroumieh, Val Nenov, Iwonka and Ardeshir (who are not on FB)... Tracy Munar-Ramos (beautiful flowers), Robert Minh Le (media), Goli Judge (media) and so many others that are volunteering at our events. Special THANK YOU for an amazing performance to our gorgeous Thomas Tomas Gimena Tango team! You looked beautiful! Cant wait to share the videos. Special thanks goes to DJ Vincent Wong for great music and for keeping everyone dancing even when it got HOT! (we are addressing the issues with air conditioner, no worries). Thank you to our wonderful vendors, Yolanda Rossi with her beautiful shoe and fashion collection, as well as Fioretta Mino who was making her debut at Milonga LAX (Argentinian souvenirs). Thank you all for your patience while we were testing out a registration system. It is being improved even as I write this... So sorry I didnt get to dance with anyone last night, it was a real bummer for me as I was experiencing some pain in my lower back and hip (and wearing heels didnt help :-).
