Good morning everyone, well Im back from holidays and had a good break ,we seen our new grandson arrive and all are healthy .. Plus a little bit if fishing too. Todays weather we gave a northwest wind around 17 knots ans a southwest swell of 2.5 metres , overcast conditions.. At this stage its quite fishable but keep an eye on the maps.. Look out guys keep an eye on the weekends weather ,at this stage it looks like a cracker.. I would think the town will get another big hit. The fishing on the weekend was huge on Saturday with every man and his dog having a crack at the tuna.. Good results around the shelf with albacore , bluefin and dolphin fish coming to the tables. Some guys got school tuna in the shallow waters around Cape Nelson to bridge water bay.. No barrels to speak off but some hook ups around port mac and lost and one nice size up at Apollo bay. Yesterday seen a hand full of boats head out again with easy bag outs for most. What a great season it has been so far.... Other areas in Portland has seen some good fish in the deeper waters with snapper queen snapper flathead and sharks being the targets. The bay around the corkscrew to smelter area has been good for flathead and pike and salmon under the water tower trolling hard body lures. The breakwater has been quiet again with not much action at all . There was a couple of sharks caught last week but havent heard much since. The glenelg river seems to be firing up again with some good size mullaway on the go which has got a lot excited again. With the good salmon that where caught Sunday should start seeing them cruising around close to the beaches which is geat fun casting into these great fish off the beaches. For all your bait and tackle today call into Portland compleat angler and say gday to the team. We have something for everyone and we are open seven days a week 8am till 6 pm..
