Good morning facebook. Today is the day I return to the place where all of the ways of being that had sustained me since I was 3 and decided that all I needed to do was be the best, (which is in itself an illusion.) and be larger than life, which was an innately hubristic ambition, broke down in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Tonight I probably wont say much, but I will sing my heart out.. I stand in faith in myself and the exquisite humanity of the most beautifully loving and world class talented community I have ever known. I know that forgiveness will be there when I show up newly. Present to love, humbled of spirit, greatfull for a lesson that in the end I chose to give in to. Doing otherwise was killing me, and I didnt realize it until I could do nothing else. Tonight at 7pm at The Supermarket, 268 August Avenue, I unveil the renewal of me. I look forward to sharing it with whomever may come to witness the best open stage in the city and perhaps the world.
