Good morning family and friends. I am deeply honored and joyed to have been elected to serve another 4 years in the Maryland House of Delegates representing the 43rd District and Baltimore City. Thank you all who encouraged and supported me on this path over the years. It is a bitter sweet victory in that many of my colleagues and the head of our party will not return by their own choice or by that of their constituents. Listen to the silence of yesterday across the State for there is meaning there if we are honest with ourselves. Today we are called, no challenged, to do even more to earn the trust that many put in us yesterday when they cast their ballot, to not take their loyalty for granted, to respect who they are today not some ghost of battles and alliances won long ago and faded due to neglect. There are new and even more devastating challenges we must and can face together. This day and everyday I pledge to do just that.
