Good morning family and happy Tuesday to all. Im still on The Nightmare Before Christmas. The preacher said, something like, we observe a sanitize version of Christmas. How although Jesus was born in a barn, and placed in a manger; its a clean barn with quiet animals....which is probably not the way it was. It was dirty, smelly and loud!!! I started thinking how we sanitize our situations and circumstances especially this time of the year and then wonder why no one is trying to help us. I know Im certainly guilty of it. Im usually transparent until it comes to need. When I need the fake smile will come and Im fine just glides so effortlessly across my lips. I used to hide behind sayings like, Its not manly to ask for help, or there are others worse off then I so Ill make it through somehow, etc, when actually its just pride...pride preventing me from getting the help I needed...Ive learned to reach out now. But in this holiday season, how many of us are faking it? Smiling and all the while knowing theres nothing on the stove and on the fridge because weve sent it on Christmas? Some folks have the lights up and no electricity to turn them on, but insist on perpetrating a fraud that everything is ok, must be a broken bulb on the line Tis the season to give but also to receive. Dont block someones blessing by NOT allowing someone to help you! Jesus is the reason for the season so lets all remember that and give one another the gift of honesty and transparency for Christmas.
