Dr. Cannon hired Madeline partly because of her skills but mostly because he trust her to faithfully safeguard all he entrusted to her. Madelines role was similar to a steward in an ancient household. This reliable slave was given authority and responsibility to manage his owners assets and care for the household rather than just himself. A steward obviously had to be extremely reliable to be entrusted with his lords most valuable possessions. God has entrusted believers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Were not to hide or hoard this treasure, but invest it by sharing and caring for others. Your responsibility is not to be perfect or to please everyone.
