Good morning folks, what a lovely sunny day in Redcar. We would like to make you aware of an incident which occured yesterday in the area of Oak Road in which a resident, whom we believe to be elderly, was approached by 3 males in a white transit van offering to do gardening work for him. This work was of a very poor standard and the charges very high. In light of this, can we ask that you keep an eye on elderly relatives, neighbours and friends so they do not become victims of this practice. We do not have a VRM and would appeal for anyone who noticed this van to get in touch. The males spoke with an Irish accent. We also had a call yesterday to Locke Park in which a concerned member of the public reported seeing a very young child alone in the park. This created an urgent response with Officers on foot and in vehicles attending the park....to find our young chap happily playing in an enclosed area with parents close by....phew! Our young gentleman was totally unaware of the stir he had caused and was chomping merrily on a chocolate bar. Some up and coming events to remind you of, Tuned In is hosting a ticket only event on Saturday at the boating lake. "A fantastic evening of song and dance" starting at 730hrs, and during the day 1-5 there will be a craft/vintage fair with bands, entertainers and face painting. Also the picnic in the park on Sunday, Borough Park where the Police horses will be visiting. Hope to see you there :)
