Good morning friends! As most of you know I am a naturalist, I use herbal remedies for just about everything. With the winter months coming and cold/flu season among us, our immune system is going into overdrive trying to fight off infection, disease, ect...I have had several people ask me how is it that you manage to stay well when everyone else is getting so sick? Of course when I tell them one thing I do is drink pine needle tea they look at me like I have three heads and then ask for the recipe. :) So I thought I would share with everyone since I am getting so many request for the recipe. Pine needle tea has more vitamin C than you will find in citrus fruits and I am not a fan of Synthetic formulated vitamins. All you do if find a pine tree take some healthy green needles of the end of the branches. My personal favorite is White Pine the flavor is almost a mild lemon taste. After you pull the needles you wash them and then cut the ends off where the needle was attached to the tree. Bring a pot of water to a boil and turn off. Put needles into pot and steep for 20-30 minutes. The water will look a little cloudy and the needles will have turned a yellowish brown color. Strain the tea and mix with honey and clove to taste. You can use anything to sweeten and add flavor the tea. I choose honey and clove for the natural healing quality that they have! Hope Yall enjoy this as much as my family does, my children actually request it :) My Motto: God gives us everything in nature we need, its up to us to find it!
