Good morning, friends. Its 4:30 am and there is no logical reason for me to be up #writing #poems other than #God does #creative things when youre willing to flow with him... [A poem for you // from me] Its mornings like this that make me praise God for you. Woke up from a dream just to lay in bed, wide awake thinking of my childhood memories made with you. cruising down the street Kris - cross - apple sauce on the front of your long board. My long hair flowing in the wind, wrapped up in one of your hoodies. I felt like nothing could stop me. You didnt have a car... but that was the greatest part about you. You taught me how to slow down, you taught me how to be fearless. You showed me that the finer things are free and that God made the finer things. You love to laugh and so do I. But you let me know its good to cry. When I found out we all grow old, I saw how much you didnt want to be alone. We fought the fight and sometimes we fell. Sometimes it felt like hell. I didnt understand how the man I loved and admired so much could possibly fail. I gave up on you... but not for too long. Until I realized when we are weak it makes us strong. All those times you told me to give it to God, I watched you pour your heart out in every song. You showed me there was depth to these days. That every moment should be filled with praise. Even through the pain you showed me love. You showed me that your strength comes from above. So its not that I gave up on you, It was just that I needed to know the truth. That he sent his son to set us free, that I have hope and a destiny. What was meant for darkness can be turned to light. That we werent just created but designed to shine! Its mornings like this that I miss running into your arms and giving you a kiss. But nothing can take away the story that weve made. Your amazing Dad, and that will never fade. [This poem was inspired by me playing this song... I love hearing me dad sing super loud with all the windows down! I hope you enjoyed this. Have a great day guys!
