Good morning friends! This past while has been a busy one for our Addie as she makes healing progress in leaps and bounds! We found out yesterday that she is now on the final admission list for city hospital. The rehab doc was in again yesterday and was encouraged by the progress even since last week! Her right eye opens regularly now and moves in sync with the left. Her right fingers are opening and closing. She can give thumbs up with het right thumb! Her right arm was flexing yesterday. Her right shoulder is moving. We know she can read. And comprehend words. She was answering math questions yesterday- even knew some square roots! We play a game using some flash cards where i would ask her a question and hold up several cards, one of them being the answer. She has to reach out and get the card she thinks is correct. If she gets the answer correct she gets to keep the card. She got all the answers correct. I even kept making the questions harder and she still got it! She typed a simple text message on my phone to family and friends hi. She recognized the letters and knew where to find them on the keyboard! Her trach sight is healed over so no more bandaid there! Best of all, her smile is returning! God is answering my prayers before I even ask them! Her body is getting stronger and stronger. She can undo her wheelchair seatbelt and immediately pulls herself forward. She wants OUT! Yesterday she started using the toilet! Yay! Ephesians 2:7-10 MSG Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing. I read this scripture this morning and thought. ... What if mom and dad had never shared the redemptive message of the gospel with me all those years ago? It is the strength and trust that I draw on everyday. It is Gods promises that I share with Addie and so many others in this building filled with suffering, sickness and pain. That there is Hope for life to go on now and in eternity. What a wonderful gift that is to receive? Thank you all again for your love and prayers! May the God of Hope be with you all today! -Char
