Good morning friends, Wanted to remind all that tonight is time change – yes, it’s that time of year that the clocks fall back and we get a free hour. What will you do with it? I was going to claim some extra football or maybe an extra hour of sleep – sounds wonderful! But maybe I’ll do something different this year. In my devotions this week I came across this quote by Henri Nouwen from All things New “Without solitude it is virtually impossible to live a spiritual life. Solitude begins with a time and place for God, and him alone. If we really believe not only that God exists but also that he is actively present in our lives – healing, teaching, and guiding we need to set aside a time and space to give him our undivided attention. Jesus says, ‘Go to your private room and, when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in that secret place’ (Matthew 6:6). I’m going to give that “extra” hour today to Jesus, to find a place of solitude and enjoy an uninterrupted hour with Him beyond my normal devotional time. Even as I type this I’m getting a little excited looking forward to it. What may Jesus have to say to me today? What revelation may occur as we walk and talk? And as I quiet my thoughts before him what little transformation may occur? However you use the hour today, I’m praying for you. May you experience His grace and peace.
