Good morning friends! With today being the anniversary of 9/11 my heart is heavy. If you know me at all, you know that my patriotism can be borderline obsessive thus the events that took place 13 years ago are still weighing heavy even today. I remember it all so well, I was sitting in Ms. Culbreths 7th grade science class when the announcement came through the loud speaker at Madras Middle School. I remember, even at 12 years old, being so shocked and horrified all at the same time. I can also remember wondering if the world was ending or if it wasnt, why would someone want to harm innocent men and women to the point of a mass killing. On this day, the anniversary of such a tragic event, lets all take a moment to stop, reflect and pray. Stop in the hustle and bustle of your day to just take a moment and give thanks that youre still here. Reflect on how we as Americans came together with such a strong bond during that time, pray for the mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, husbands, wives, sisters and brothers that were victims to this horrific act of terrorism. Let us also pray for the service men and women that answered the call of duty after these events to secure our safety and freedom. Last but certainly not least, lets take a moment to thank God when we see our loved ones today, to thank God that he already has blessed America and then lets take a moment to bless God!! 9/11 was a tragedy to our country and in light of the events currently taking place in other countries, be sure to never let a moment pass that you have with the ones you love and of course, NEVER FORGET!
