Good morning from the LIRR. In todays episode of phycho on the Long Island Railroad.... we have a man who is either named Steve or is mad at Steve. Hes ramming his head in to the window mumbling Damn it Steve... I hate my life. Over and over and over and over. Hes going to get a booger stuck on his forehead if he keeps that up. If he starts yelling No! I will not hide in the fruit cellar! Ha! You think Im fruity, huh? Im staying right here. This is my room and no one will drag me out of it, least of all my big, bold son! .... Im moving to another car ;) Fruity...lol... hes bananas alright. As humans, we tend to mentally block things we do not want to process. For example... I totally did not just see that cockaroch go under the train talk flyer Mr Coo Coo for Cocoa Puffs just threw on the floor. It was just dirt... maybe a pebble. Just like the woman in front of me is oblivious to the SMH event. Shes sleeping with her headphones on without a care in the world. I refuse to go through life with blinders on. Im one of those people that likes to be conciously aware of the environment they are in. Whats occurring in my general vacinity derectly affects my life. If the Norman Bates wannabe decides to go full tilt boogie bonkers... Ill know and be able to escape. Just because you ignore the things you do not want to see it doesnt make them go away. They are still there... mumbling Ill carry you, mother. That goes for life in general, not the train. People ignore so much... the animal cruelty and child abuse in our society are the two big ones... as us Americans like to think we are more civilized than we are. The lack of compassion we show for the innocent as a collective of people is quite disturbing. More disturbing than steve to my right. If we cant help those unable to help themselves, what does that really say about us as a whole. Now... dont get me wrong... individually we do amazing and selfless things. I personally know some true angels amongst men. Im just seeing a lot of two dangerous behaviors from the masses lately. The first being the above mentioned just ignore it mentality. The second would be the crazy mob bandwagon. There are people out there that will believe anything they hear or read, and are way to quick to go in to witch hunt mode. A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it! - Kay, MIB The answer to both situations is simple. Stop and take a deep breath, look around you, be safe, think before reacting, be aware of the world, never jump to conclusions, question EVERYTHING and.... dont be steve. Facepalm and move on... walking around looking like a unicorn all day only hurts you. “Yeah, well, I’ve got a dream too, but it’s about singing and dancing and making people happy. That’s the kind of dream that gets better the more people to share it with.” — Kermit the Frog
