Good morning guys. A lovely day to come for much of England and Wales with plenty of sunshine, especially in Southern and Eastern parts. Some fair weather cloud in places at times although remaining dry for most. Cloud increasing in Northern parts of England but still some sunny spells throughout the day and just a slight chance of an odd shower. Scotland will see more in the way of cloud although still some bright or sunny spells in places. Scattered showers continuing in North Western parts although Eastern areas should remain mainly dry. Northern Ireland will also see quite a lot of cloud at times but also some bright or sunny spells with just a few showers during this afternoon, mainly in Northern and Western parts. Rather breezy for Northern parts England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, with particularly strong winds in the North West of Scotland, the Western Isles and Shetland. Mainly light winds elsewhere in the UK. Maximum temperatures today typically ranging from 10°C to 15°C in England and Wales and perhaps a little warmer in Southern and Eastern parts of England. Scotland will be cooler, especially in Northern and Western parts and the Highlands with highs of 8°C expected here, although Eastern parts will be milder with maximum values of 11°C. Northern Ireland will see top temperatures today ranging from 10°C to 12°C. Tonight showers will ease in the North West of Scotland leaving most parts of the UK with a dry night. Winds will also ease and cloud will become well broken in many places with some lengthy clear spells. A slight frost is possible, mainly in rural areas and a few mist patches are also likely in places too. A rather chilly night to come with minimum temperatures typically ranging from 4°C to 8°C in England and Wales although colder in rural areas, especially in Wales and Western parts of England, and also in the North of England. Scotland will see minimum values of 3°C to 5°C for most but colder in the Highlands. A milder night in the Western Isles with lows here around 7°C. Northern Ireland will see minimum temperatures typically around 4°C to 7°C although colder than this in Southern parts, perhaps as low as 3°C in rural areas. A great day in store for the 2014 London Marathon with plenty of sunshine, a few fair weather clouds at times and a gentle Westerly breeze. Maximum temperatures of 16°C today in London.
