Good morning high school band parents! It’s that time of year again! BWAC Marching Extravaganza is next week already – Tuesday, Oct. 1 6:30pm – Port Huron Memorial Stadium. Most of you are familiar with the day, but for those of you who are not, it’s a day where all of the marching bands in the BWAC conference get together and perform their half time shows for each other. At the end of the performances, all the student assemble onto the field and the perform 2 numbers together. It is truly a remarkable sight to see (and hear) 700+ students – end zone to end zone – perform together. It’s just a really great day to honor our hard-working band students. I have attached a flier that will have a lot of information for you. I will need a couple chaperones, so if you’re available, please let me know. The itinerary is as follows: 2:15 – Band students released from class to load equipment 2:40 – Bus departs for Port Huron Memorial Stadium 3:15 – Arrive at PHMS and unload 4:00 – All students set on the field for mass band rehearsal 5:30 – Dinner – STUDENTS BRING THEIR OWN FOOD! 6:30 – Performances begin! 9:30 – Load bus and equipment 9:45 – Depart for Capac 10:15 – Arrive at Capac Band room PLEASE UNDERSTAND! That the times may vary depending on how smoothly the evening runs. The students will call when we leave Port Huron to verify pick up times. Please be prompt when picking up your child. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! We are very much looking forward to this day. It’s the highlight of the marching season. Join us!
