Good morning ladies & gentlemen, anime fans of all ages! :D how are you guys doing today? The weather kinda sucks in my area its like rain, rain, rain nonstop & this aint even like that summer rain, its just rain like were in the middle of spirng or something -_- So now that Im depressed and have decided to stay under my warm blankie for as long as possible :P and so, with that decided, today Ill be recommending an anime that has a feels to it, an anime thats one hell of a tear jerker (for me) ladies & gents todays recommendation is ANOHANA: THE FLOWER WE SAW THAT DAY [Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai] So my thoughts: I started this anime on a recommendation from a good friend of mine, I was looking for an anime that could provoke emotion and this is what she suggested. But at only 11 episodes I remember thinking theres no way in hell I would beable to feel anything for any character with a show this short I... I could NOT have been more wrong! Anohana is one beautiful anime! Thats basically all there is to it! The story is told very well and although there are gaping holes in the plot (especially with characters) that doesnt take away or confuse the watcher when they watch this amazing story unfold. It does a good job of building up emotion in every episode you watch for the first 10 episodes, just as one would fill up a balloon with water, and in the last episode, the feels come pouring out, akin to popping that water balloon with a pin... It just gushes out, them tears, atleast thats how it was with me! On to the characters, some are very likeable, and some are just plain old annoying but all these characters, regardless of their personality is what makes this anime what it is, and that is reason enough! If you guys have never heard of it: Jinta Yadomi and his group of childhood friends have become estranged after a tragic accident split them apart. Now in their high school years, a sudden surprise forces each of them to confront their guilt over what happened that day and come to terms with the ghosts of their past. [Copied from myanimelist.net] And another: [Warning, following plot description may contain minor spoilers, please read at your own descretion] A group of six childhood friends drift apart after one of them, Meiko Menma Honma, dies in an accident. Ten years after the incident, the leader of the group, Jinta Yadomi, has withdrawn from society and lives as a recluse. One summer day, the ghost of an older looking Menma appears before him and asks to have a wish granted, reasoning that she cannot pass on into the afterlife until it is fulfilled. At first, he only tries to help her minimally because he thinks he is hallucinating. But since Menma does not remember what her wish is, Jinta gathers his estranged friends together once again, believing that they are the key to resolving this problem. All of the group join him, though most of them do so reluctantly. However, things grow increasingly complicated when his friends accuse him of not being able to get over the death of Menma, for Jinta is the only one who can see Menmas ghost and his friends think he is seeing things. But as matters progress, it is realized that Jinta is not the only person in the group who is having trouble letting go of the past. It is revealed that a majority of the group members blame themselves for Menmas death and long hidden feelings are rekindled. The group struggles as they grow from trying to help Menma move on and help each other move on as well.
