Good morning my dear colleagues, members of the Speakers Bureau, Marketing and Training Teams, my beloved friends, I would like to start off with a quote from Maya Angelou i read weeks ago that perfectly describes the feeling i have right now and I think many have felt this too. And i quote... Ive learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. To the owners of our blessed company, I am very thankful for this initiative. By making us or at least me feel very uncomfortable and excited by this training, you have challenged us again. By leading us out of our comfort zone, you have given us a better direction and confidence in our business. By making us face our fear of the mighty English language, you have indeed made it clearer to us that as a member of the Aim Global Speakers Bureau we have the opportunity or better still the responsibility to better ourselves; to articulate and communicate well in the language most widely used in the business world. The first step we took in this course is a big leap in our capabilities to confidently share our business model to everyone beyond our countrys border. Oh yes, never will I forget this first step we took in preparation for our global market. Because when I heard our amazing Professor Rene spoke the phrase subject-verb agreement for the first time in more than 40years, I felt myself swallowed back into the past, my elementary and high schools days. The agony and terror of my English teachers, I felt goose bumps all over my skin. Again I was reminded of an African proverb and i quote, if theres no enemy within, the enemies outside will do you no harm. Yes, I was always talking to myself during this short but traumatic experience of the English training. I can do this. I have to do this. I need to do this. And whats fun about it is, this time i will be going thru the English subject understanding why I need to learn it by heart now and to make it a fun journey altogether. This time around, I went into this training not to get good or passing grades but to fully maximize the potential inside of me, to enhance my skill set and build a better confidence when conversing in English even if i have to sweat it out or put myself in a very awkward situation. The main thing is, for me to become a better English conversing person, I need to accept that I will have to go thru the process of making mistakes along the way. Because I believe that learning is an ongoing process, actually a lifestyle of many a successful people in history. Now I put forth the challenge prepared for us my dear colleagues by the global business we have. May this English Proficiency Training and the coming trainings planned by our esteemed leadership make us a better businessmen, an effective motivator, a storyteller, an inspiring persuader and ultimately a better person for many to follow, as we lead them to the vision set by our mentors and owners. Again together with my colleagues in the Speakers Bureau, our heartfelt gratitude to our beloved owners, CEO Dr. Ed Cabantog, CFO Engr. Francis Miguel and CMO Sir John Asperin for this wonderful learning opportunity. Professor Rene, your passion and patience is deeply appreciated and looking forward to a fruitful and productive business relationship with you and your team in the near future also. And by pushing past thru our fears and anxieties, may we all live our full potential as Our Lord has planned for us! All these for Gods glory! God bless us all and congratulations graduates!
