Good morning my dear family, relatives & friends! Today, I will share with you the Sacrament of Penance/Confession: Christ knew that we are human & weak. The just man falls seven times, says the Book of Proverbs (24:16). Jesus knew that we could fall into sin often. That is why He instituted the Sacrament of Penance wherein through the instrumentality of the priest, he may forgive us every time we ask pardon. Jesus gave His apostles & their successors the power to forgive sin when He told them: Receive the Holy Spirit, whose sins you shall retain, they are retained. (John 20:22-23). The most important thing in confession is to be sorry because we have offended God, our loving Father. God forgives. There is no sin, no matter how great, that he cannot forgive because his mercy is greater than our sin. The priest who sits in the confessional is Gods delegate. We need not be ashamed to tell our sins to the priest. He is a good shepherd who forgives us in Jesus name. IT IS USELESS TO TELL A LIE IN CONFESSION : GOD SEES OUR HEART. TO TELL A LIE MEANS WE ARE NOT SORRY, AND WHEN WE ARE NOT SORRY, THERE CAN BE NO FORGIVENESS. INSTEAD WE ADD ANOTHER SIN: SACRILEGE. Contrition includes also the resolution to stop our sinful ways & to avoid persons, places & things whicj lead us to sin. It disposes us also to make amendments for the wrong we have done to someone. LET US PRAY! Our Father ......Hail Mary ..... Glory be....In the Name of the Father & of the Son & of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
