Good morning my friends. It seems to me that my age is really catching up with me. I just can’t figure it out…I got before 4:00 as usual and was in Ether, that’s close to Star for those of you who don’t know, by 8:15 waiting for the pottery to open. It gave me time to make a couple of pics before the folks at Ray Pottery got to work. Well, by the time I drove back home and unloaded the van full of pottery and got half of it checked in and priced, I was physically out of gas. I am afraid that I have been spending too much money buying pottery, but it’s time to stock up for Christmas sales. I bought many beautiful pieces there and then drove over to Eagle Springs to buy a bunch of Triple “C” pottery, too. If that wasn’t enough, I hurried through the beautiful country to Seagrove and bought some beautiful pieces at O’Quinn pottery, too. Since I was out of checks and out of money, I then hurried to Gary’s BBQ in China Grove in time for a foot-long hot dog before going to the gallery. We now have the prettiest and the largest selection of pottery we have had in a long time and we still are not done…there are at least two potters that we haven’t had time to visit yet. Come in as soon as possible to choose that perfect piece while the pickins are good. I will still be checking in and pricing pottery today. We are proud to say that we have the largest selection of North Carolina pottery that can be found for miles around. After getting home from a Rotary social, that we enjoyed very much, I collapsed in bed, too tired to go to sleep and began watching Forrest Gump on the Family Channel. Tom Hanks really deserved the Oscar he won for his performance in the movie. He made the character come alive on the screen. I laughed at some of the parts, like when he was at the White House with John Kennedy and had drunk fifteen Dr. Peppers. But, I was literally brought to tears and cried along with Forrest at other times. I love the line he said when he and Jenny visited her old home-place years later and she was throwing rocks at it and eventually collapsed on the road crying. After seeing Jenny in her emotional state, Forrest said with his unusual insight “Sometimes, you just don’t have enough rocks.” You could feel his pain and his love for Jenny. I’ll never forget the expression on Hanks’ face when he visited Jenny in Savannah and discovered that her little boy was named Forrest, too. Tom Hanks is one of the all time greatest actors in my book. Well, according to the clock on the computer and my friends at WBTV, it looks like I had better forget the exercise today and just head on to work and get started on checking in more pottery. It’s already past 5:30 and here I am still sitting here like I don’t have anything to do. I hope you all have a wonderful day and if you happen to find yourself uptown, drop in and say howdy…I might put you to work. God Bless!!
