Good morning my friends. Well, I lived through watching the segment of myself on North Carolina Now last night. I would have hated to have sat there alone and watched it, but as usual, I was surrounded with love and support by Vickie, Stephen, and Teena. When I discovered that I was requested to sing and play the guitar on the show, I put it off as long as I could, but thankfully Bob Garner called me and put me at ease and agreed that it might be a good idea to have somebody with real talent to lead the singing. If it were not for my best friend, Stephen Brooks, I doubt if I ever would have mustered enough courage to actually sit on the couch and try to sing and play the guitar knowing that it would later be witnessed by people from across the state. Many thanks to Bob Garner of UNC-TV for his great talent for interviewing ordinary folks like me and making us comfortable enough to sound halfway intelligent. I had watched Bob for years on UNC-TV with envy as plates of mouth-watering food were placed before him waiting for him to sample and critique. I knew then that he was a special man just by being able to control himself without diving into all that food with both hands. From the first time I met Bob personally at a book-signing in Wake Forest, NC, I was impressed with his easy-going way of greeting people and making them feel special. I will always cherish the time I spent with Bob and the videographer while they were in Mooresville filming the series. Speaking of book-signings, I will be at the Mooresville Public Library today from 11-1 along with many more local authors talking about our endeavors in the world of literature. Please come by and say howdy and let us humble authors personalize a book for you. Mooresville is blessed with many talented artists and authors that would make any community proud, so come down to the Library and meet some of the nice folks. I don’t know about you folks, but I have many friends who are in need of prayer and have started my daily prayer list. I have been richly blessed with a modicum of good health of which I am grateful and sometimes feel a little guilty when I see the needs of others who struggle just to make it through the day. Some of my friends are dealing with life-threatening diseases, some with depression, some dealing with grief, some need travelling mercies, and some have tremendous financial difficulties. Everyone, as I do, has their own set of problems and prayer is a wonderful tool that God has provided for us to gain access to His unlimited power. I always give thanks to God for what He has already done for me before beseeching His help with my personal concerns and the needs of others. Be sure to give thanks today and tell somebody you love them. If you are in our area today, please drop by the Library and seek us authors out and let us sign a book for you. I wish I already had my new children’s book for the occasion, but as Scarlet O’Hara said in that great literary classic, “Gone with the Wind,” “Oh, well, tomorrow
