Good morning my friends. Well, another Christmas day has come and - TopicsExpress

Good morning my friends. Well, another Christmas day has come and gone and the trappings and wrappings are still here. Vickie should be happy, she got the recycled bin filled up overnight…some think she is the recycle-Queen. We all enjoyed a peaceful Christmas day spent together with family and laughing at the little ones as they opened their presents. Thankfully, I got a plethora of gift certificates for places to eat and I will definitely not have to change any of them. Vickie has always said I was easy…easy to buy for, that is. Precious memories of this Christmas day will hopefully linger for years to come and remind us of these precious times we spent together. We are most richly blessed!! I am not quite sure how long it will take for me to recuperate from all the physical, mental, and emotional ways that the Christmas season seems to bring each year. I am proud to say that I only ate one plate of food for lunch and maybe just two or three desserts; I have really tried to do better, so maybe I didn’t gain too much weight. I slept in this morning until almost 4:00 and discovered that the world didn’t end during the night. The quiet reverence of the early Christmas morning is now a thing of the past, but will always be cherished. Christmas Days always seem like Sunday to me and it will take a couple of weeks to re-adjust and get back to normal. I look forward to going to work today where hopefully I can get some rest. I want to thank everyone who came into the gallery during this Christmas season and brought along some much appreciated hugs. Thanks, too, for purchasing the Christmas book and I really hope that everyone who received them enjoys reading them for many years to come. Well, good luck changing your gifts today, but please be nice and patient with the salesperson who will be trying to assist you. My granddaughter, Kristian, who works at Belk will be working today and there is no better or sweeter person who will have your best interest in mind when you are trying to return something…so you had better be nice to her or I will come and get you. I worked for Belk’s for over thirteen years and worked every Christmas afternoon marking down merchandise for the traditional sale that began the next day. I dreaded the day after Christmas so much because so many people would bring stuff back and get a refund and then turn around and buy it back at the sale price. That has always struck me as being dishonest, but they were the ones who had to live with their conscious. Now, there is a sale going on every day and thankfully they have computers to help keep up with it. So, what I am saying is: be nice, be honest, and be patient…Santa Claus is still watching the way you behave and he will tell me how you acted on the day after Christmas, too. Have a great un-eventful day that will bring peace to your lives. Slow down and enjoy the company in your home. Sit around for a while and rub your belly and remember the meal in which you stuffed yourself and then think about the people in the world who have nothing to eat. Be generous during this Holy Season of giving and do not pass up a chance to make some else’s life a little better. God Bless!!
