Good morning once again and happy Tuesday. You know the best thing about getting up so early in the morning is? It is totally peaceful and quiet. Not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse. For me, its a great time to really concentrate on God, His word and its a wonderful prayer time. So many times the hustle and bustle of the day draws our attention away from God and onto the concerns of the day. But I can tell you I have oft times stopped myself in the middle of the day and whispered a little prayer asking God for his guidance or even just to thank him for this or that. The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 this; 16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. Wow, what great advice and remember that all 47 writers of Gods word recorded what God had Inspired them to write (Phil, 3:16) over a period of 1500 years, these words. Number 1. We are to rejoice forever more. Just the fact that God chose yo send his Son Jesus to die in our place is a reason to rejoice but he did much more than that because the same God that sent his Son to die for us also raised him up to life eternal. And in Christ hands are the keys to life and death and by simply believing that Christ died, was buried and rose again so that we could be forgiven by simply believing in Him is cause enough to Rejoice Evermore. Number 2. Pray without CEASING. Some people believe that this is impossible but I can tell you that if God told Paul to pen these words then its not impossible. The more we read and study Gods word, the more time we spend with him in supplication and prayer the more time we spend feeding the spirit instead of the flesh, the closer we get to praying without ceasing. You see when I was younger, whenever calamity occurred I would instantly get angry and begin to curse and there are times I still do that today. But more often now instead I instantly begin to pray and ask God to help me and to guide me. Number 3. In every thing give thanks. Sometimes we find it hard to give thanks when it seems like the whole world is crashing down around us and yes, I have oft times experienced this. But when I can bring myself to the point of Giving Thanks, I find the strength to get through it. But this verse is telling us to give thanks in ALL things. And why does it say to give thanks in ALL things? The end of the verse holds the answer, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning WHO? YOU or US. I dont know about all of you but I start out my EVERY DAY by giving thanks for ALL of YOU. And even though I havent totally conquered Praying without Ceasing, I am still trying. Have a great day all and remember that God loves you and I do too. Hugs all around and God bless.
