Good morning peeps! All of the nominees for the Az 1 Awards worked hard to get to where we are in the present. Male Artist of the year is a heavy title, one that shouldnt be taken for granted. Recently I had to be reminded of the grind in the game. I caught myself being upset that Thrift Shop was selected as the Rap Song of all time (Billboards). Than I was reminded about the hustle to even get a nomination is serious. To be a white dude making hip hop from Seattle working hard to get your message out there is an amazing feat. I may not be much of a fan, but I respect the hustle. The same way he gets criticized is the same way I get criticized for what I say or do. Watching his rise through adversity makes me feel humble about my situation. It can always be worse. I can make a bunch of good music and perform great shows to people who really dont care, but thats not the case. Instead of feeling under appreciated; I get nominations, awards, audience applaud, etc. All the things I used to dream of as a kid. How can I be sad about my position in the industry?
