Good morning race fans. Got to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course bright and early for the photo meeting and to grab my spot in the tower overlooking the finish line. The storms that rolled through on Wednesday have caused havoc with internet service so you just might end up with a deluge of reports once the service is up and running. On track action started at 8:00 am with the IMSA Lites followed by the Continental Tire Sporst car Challenge on track now. What an amazing field once again! This picture shows cars lined up all the way back to “pit in” and what you don’t see are the fifteen cars at the head of the line to my left. After nearly two months off, these guys are itching to race. Rolex Series practice will follow with Mazda MX-5 Cup taking the last practice session before lunch. One series that was set to debut this weekend at Mid-Ohio is the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Unfortunately the series was not ready to proceed but they do have a couple of cars here doing some VIP demo laps – have to see if I can score a tour. In the meantime, going to grab an entry list for the IMSA Lites as I saw a couple of cars heading to the grid with Canadian flags on them. Will update when available.
