Good morning residents. The team at Griffith City Library has been extra busy preparing for the launch of its new collection of classic and modern Italian language romance and mystery books + DVDs. The team has also acquired more comic books, doubling the size of its very popular collection that was launched in March this year. The library recently acquired the large Italian collection from Melbourne-based supplier Insegna Booksellers and will continue to receive new books and DVDs every month to ensure the collection grows. Library Joint Manager Pam Young said her team is excited to offer this collection to meet the big demand for Italian books and movies in the Griffith community. “Griffith is proud of its Italian heritage and we are excited to be able to reflect this wonderful cultural influence by offering a variety of classic and modern titles,” Mrs Young said. “We encourage anyone interested in Italian literature and film to come and have a look at the items that are now are available for borrowing,” she added. Please note: an Italian language version of this media release is available on the Library’s website at griffith.nsw.gov.au/cp_themes/library/home.asp# Local comic book fans can now flip through a much bigger selection of their favourite stories, following the announcement that Griffith City Library has doubled the size of its graphic novel collection to more than 300 items. The new items available to borrow cover a broad range of the comic book market, from popular Marvel, DC and Image characters to stand-alone titles such as the 1992 Pulitzer Prize winner Maus which is centred around WWII experiences.
