Good morning saints. This is the day that the Lord has made. We - TopicsExpress

Good morning saints. This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. We thank the Lord for this new day. We thank Him for His protection and provision. We thank him for the gift of life. [The] Spirit of [the] Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach glad tidings to [the] poor; he has sent me to preach to captives deliverance, and to [the] blind sight, to send forth [the] crushed delivered, (Luke 4:18 Darby) The Gospel has always been for a particular group of people. It was always meant for those who know they need help and are willing to receive it. It is this acknowledgement of weakness and need of assistance that unlocks the power of the Gospel. It seems easy enough but in reality this kind of humility is not always easy to find. Of course the exaltation of self sufficiency had to have started with the devil. but God knows that in the day ye eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and ye will be as God, knowing good and evil. (Gen 3:5 Darby) When the devil tempted Eve, he chose to tempt her with self sufficiency. Once she ate the fruit she would be like God and therefore not need Him anymore. Pursuing a path that was divorced from the acknowledgement of weakness and the need for help separated Eve and then Adam from God. They compromised their ability to hear from God, obey Him and receive from Him. For many their confidence has been diverted from God to their man of God. Who needs God when we are connected to such a powerful man of God whom we believe can make anything happen? Education, employment, medical aid, a successful relative etc are all used by the devil to get us to put our confidence in them instead of God. Whatever the alternative to being weak and in need of God that we choose, the results are the same. We separate ourselves from the love, grace, fellowship and power of God. May you be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. May you always wait on the Lord. May you not allow the devil to remove you from your privileged position in Christ. May you allow His strength to be perfected in your weakness.
