Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Saturday, Aug. 2 at 8 a.m. It is tax free weekend at Ocean Surf Shop, and we will have additional discounts on summer merchandise, save around 30% on shoes, backpacks and apparel this weekend. Waves at Folly this morning are knee to thigh high. There is a waist high set. It should get slightly larger as the tide comes in. We have squall lines off the beach early this morning, and winds are currently offshore – Trace north-west. Tide is coming in, and high tide will be at 12:47 p.m. Low tide will be at 6:56 p.m. Edisto Buoy is 3.9 ft. at 7 seconds short period south-easterly wind swell. We should see waves average thigh high with a bigger set Saturday and Sunday in small south-easterly trade wind swell. There will be numerous storms at the beach Tropical Storm Bertha Formed overnight. This system shows a favorable track for sending us some ground swell starting late day Monday into Tuesday. We will keep an eye on that forecast.
