Good morning, this is Bates with your Ocean Surf Shop surf report for Tues. Sept. 9 at 8:15 a.m. We still have a great selection of men and women’s summer gear at 20% off to end the summer season. Waves at Folly this morning are ankle to knee high. Winds are west at 5 knots, and surf is sheet-glass clean. High tide is ring now, and low tide will be at 2:38 p.m. The next high tide is at 8:59 pm. Edisto Buoy is reading 2.3 ft. at 6 sec. in small, short-period south-east wind swell. We should see small, thigh high south wind swell with choppy conditions throughout most of the day. Surf looks clean but very small-to-flat surf for the rest of the week. Surf should pick back up again this weekend in small, high-angled east/north-east wind swell. As always we’ll keep you updated. The tropics should throw a swell our way during the middle of next week. An impressive tropical wave - 91L - is off the coast of Africa and moving west north-west. We will keep you updated on that forecast.
