Waves at the Folly this morning are thigh to waist and choppy as the south winds have increased overnight. Winds are south at 10 to 15 knots with stronger gust. High Tide 9:45 a.m. / Low Tide 3:36 p.m. Edisto Buoy is reading 3.6 ft. 6 sec. Waves will remain in the thigh to waist range and choppy to semi-choppy for the rest of today. The rest of the week should remain about the same, waves averaging waist high in short period east/south-east wind swell before a cold front passage on Friday when it will get cleaner but smaller. .SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS OF SOUTH COASTAL SOUTH CAROLINA AND NORTH COASTAL GEORGIA...ATLANTIC HIGH PRESSURE WILL EXTEND WEST INTO THE AREA TODAY. A COLD FRONT WILL TRANSITION ACROSS THE WATERS EARLY TUESDAY BEFORE HIGH PRESSURE REBUILDS OVER THE REGION THROUGH MID WEEK. ANOTHER COLD FRONT MAY PASS THROUGH THE REGION LATE THURSDAY INTO EARLY FRIDAY. It is 79*, mostly cloudy and breezy this morning. Look for continued overcast skies today with a 60% chance of rain and a high of 86* Water temp is 79*.
