Good morning to all those people who eat,sleep,breathe and love the BDF with all their hearts and souls.It does not matter if you are a soldier or civilian.As long as you admire and acknowledge the job and tasks that our Men and women in green carry out in relation to protecting the interests,integrity and sovereignty of this beautiful country then you have my RESPECT.Salute unto you!Today we wake up to some sad unconfirmed reports.There seems to be some sort of Military uprising in one of the countries that are very close to Botswana, The Kingdom of Lesotho.The people of this particular nation are considered to be brothers and sisters with us Batswana because we share a similar culture and a common language.History has proven that we come from the same ancestors.Now this makes me wonder if Lesotho is going back to the year of 1998 where SADC had to deploy a Military Intervention to quell the uprising perpetrated the the countrys soldiers.If thats the case I hope that our BDF soldiers get sent there.Because of the statement I just wrote,I know what many of you might be thinking now.I want our boys and girls to go there and get killed.On the contrary that is not what I am saying.I dont know how many of you are familiar with the 1998 operation but it was a very violent one for the SANDF because when they got to Lesotho they came out guns blazing and the Lesotho army retaliated with their own weaponry.However,when the BDF got there they used their humanity and love towards their brothers and sisters.Mind you the BDF was sufficiently armed as well but they were not there to kill but to restore peace and order within the kingdom.That was their primary objective.Violence was the last thing on their mind.They showed the people that what they were doing was wrong and that they were destroying their own livelihood.They were burning away their own bread and butter.Because of the action taken by the BDF our forces were loved so much by the people of this kingdom that none of our soldiers lost their lives in active combat while on the mission.That is why I would like our boys and girls to go there if the need for them arises.The BDF are legends when it comes to these type of missions.That is where their high level of professionalism comes into play.
