The Legal and Vital Sides of Redemption (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 NKJV) "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."There is a legal and a vital side to redemption. The legal speaks of what God through Jesus has accomplished for you. You are saved on legal grounds. God has every right to call you His child because Jesus paid the full price at Calvary. His death, burial and resurrection established your redemption. The price for your redemption was paid in full. The vital part of redemption speaks of what God through His Spirit is doing in you right now.Without the legal, the vital would not be possible. Without the vital, the legal would be cold and merely religious. A combination of the legal and vital produces a victorious believer.The Scriptures reveal to us what Christ did on her behalf. He was crucified for us, He died for us, He went to hell for us, and He was justified for our sakes. He redeemed us by His blood. The Scriptures also reveal what the Holy Spirit is doing in us today. We need to walk in the reality of what the Spirit of God is doing in us today with the benefit of the knowledge of what Christ has already done for us. That is a winning formula.
