Good morning to you all, I hope that everyone was safe last night - TopicsExpress

Good morning to you all, I hope that everyone was safe last night during the blackout which affected many areas across Durban, hope that no one had any bad incidents take place. Please there is something of a concern that is coming up now, and that is the amount of dogs running loose in all areas, either these dogs are getting out their owners yards, and owners need to check where and how, or gates are been opened purposely and dogs been let out so as the property then is a much easier target. Also if your dog is in the habit of bolting - please make sure he/she is restrained while either driving in/ out of your driveway or letting visitors in/out your property. With the amount of dogs that we saw loose and running in the roads, scared and lost this weekend was very sad, and quiet concerning as not only is it not fair on the dog who becomes frantic, it is a danger to motorists. Please people as much as you ensure that your family is safe, and that your children who are small cannot get out your property or no one get to them, please do the same for your animals, after all they should be treated as part of your family. We saw many dogs also ripping open black bags and orange bags that were left in areas on the wrong rubbish days and wrong times - these areas will be reported to DSW, as people have repeatedly been asked to take note and heed to correct rubbish collection dates for their area, and to not put rubbish out night or days before pick up. Also make sure the correct colour bag is used for the correct refuse put into that bag. Our community is becoming more filthy and smelly by the day - and who is to blame, yes the residents, home owners and businesses in the area, as they create the mess. A lot of the rubbish lying around is either household rubbish spilled out from rubbish bags, fast food packets/wrappers, plastic cool drink bottles, cans, drink bottles/cans,papers etc, and then of course, the most disgusting of all, used condoms and condom wrappers, plus all the areas where people squat/stand and use as toilets. Come on people lets all take pride in our community - where you live tells people a lot about who you are. - dont leave it and blame it on DSW, or expect a group of dedicated community members, such as The Glenwood Clean-up Group, to always have to keep picking up after you, and keep begging you to stop littering, they all do it because they care about our community, many of us do too, and try do our bit to help - so lets hope the next time you are tempted to throw that can or paper on the pavement or out the car window, you stop and think, and rather look for the nearest rubbish bin or wait until you get home, and put what ever it is, in your rubbish bin.
