Well be live with details on todays court appearance for 27-year-old Brandon Brewer. Hes the man police say he opened fire in North Charlotte on Kingville Drive Sunday afternoon... injuring two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers and a 10-year-old girl. More violence in Ferguson, Missouri overnight. Police used armored vehicles to push back demonstrators. And officers fired tear gas and flash grenades. Authorities say at least two people were shot during Monday night clashes. Authorities are blaming the violence on criminals who are in crowds of peaceful protesters, and theyre asking people who are protesting the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer to protest during the day. Well have more on todays scheduled court appearance of a man accused of killing a corrections officer in south Charlotte. Teachers and staff will return to Discovery High School in Newton today. Thats the school where murdered guidance counselor Maggie Daniels worked. Its also the first day of classes for students in Watauga County today. Well be talking live with the superintendent of schools. Television and radio announcer Don Pardo, whose booming baritone was known to fans of Saturday Night Live, The Price is Right and other programs, has died. He was 96. A North Carolina judge will hear arguments today on whether its constitutional for tax money to be used to pay for tuition at private or religious schools. Taxpayer and teachers groups and many of the states 115 school boards are challenging whether the state can spend public money on K-12 tuition at private or religious schools.
